I grew up in South Lyon Michigan and attended South Lyon East High School. Outside of the world of academic education, I received training in Commercial Acting, Stage-Combat, Improv, Directing, and Characterization from industry professionals. Click here for full image view of educational workup.
Training & Education //
I’ve always opted for accelerated and high level courses, especially in areas of interest for me, like English and the Arts. Since middle school, I’ve been in Honors English classes that encouraged me to read between the lines and encouraged me creatively- I even took a Film as Literature my junior year of high school to follow my passion for the theatrical, while self studying for AP English Language and Composition, for which I received a 5, which is still an accomplishment I am very proud of.
Other challenging courses I’ve taken include AP United States History, AP Government and Politics, AP Statistics, AP World History, Advanced Drawing, Sculpture, Spanish 4, and “Reading and Writing for the College Bound”. Regardless of their relevance to my career, these courses encouraged me to continue learning in all areas of academia and foster a strong work ethic. Below, I have included several works from multiple high school courses that show off this enthusiasm for education.
Academic Achievements //
Some “Soft-Skills” I bring to every project are leadership, ambition, creativity, adaptability, teamwork, and intuitive acting ability.
Through life experience and hard-work put in to grow and improve as an artist and person, I’ve acquired the “Hard-Skills” of resilience, several acting method techniques such as Stanislovsky, auditioning skills, handling rejection, interpersonal communication, how to teach to a group, and how to direct, among other valuable life-lessons. I credit many of these skills to my childhood attending Camp Newaygo and my time there as a counselor. Attached below covers my summer 2024 “LIT” experience, and to learn more about my love and appreciation for camp, information is available in the Experience off the Stage page.
For my Independent Study in Drama during my Senior year, my final assignment was to adapt, cast, and direct a one-act play that would be performed by the regular Drama students for an in-school show. I adapted Jonathan Rand’s script for “How to Survive High School Without Really Trying”.
