Outside of academics, performing work, and time onstage, I lead an active life that supports other hobbies and meaningful experiences that have helped me become more well-rounded and knowledgeable.
Meaningful Experience
Camp Newaygo
Summer Camp in Newaygo, MI
I had the privilege to attend Camp Newaygo every summer from the age of 7 up until I was 16, and I’m so incredibly thankful to have had a place to learn, grow, and thrive through every stage of life, surrounded by nature, the arts, and positive role models. In my final year as a camper, I was awarded with the highest honor a camper can receive, the “Dedicator” award, which acknowledged my growth as a person, my passion for all things camp, and my giving back to the camp environment.
Summer 2024 was my first year at Camp stepping out of my role as a camper and into a counseling role, and I took that transition through Camp Newaygo’s “Leader In Training” or “LIT” program. 4 other former campers and I, lead by an advisor, trained to help create the magic from behind the scenes, working on projects, learning CPR/first aid, teaching classes, programming events, leading camp outs, and of course, counseling. After knowing everything there was to know about camp as a camper, and having to relearn how camp works from the position of a staff member, was a challenge and a stark reminder of the responsibilities that come with growing up. But, through stress and fun, I grew a whole lot that summer, and I’m happy to say I’m continuing that journey by accepting a role on staff this coming summer, 2025.
National Honors Society
In my formative years at South Lyon East, I volunteered with our “Key Club”, and in my Senior year I was inducted into our “National Honors Society”. As someone who has always worked artistic jobs, I’ve found my time taking on different challenges in volunteer work for NHS especially enriching, helping me to sculpt my work ethic and foster motivation in accomplishing a positive impact on a good cause.
While I’m happy to help wherever I can, I’ve been lucky enough to have found volunteer opportunities that allow my to take advantage of my passions, and I credit the skills I've acquired from my several jobs as a performer to making me an excellent asset for any event- whether that be singing for the elderly, or painting faces at an after-school elementary social!
Through my performing work, I've participated in several volunteer events as a character actor to inspire and excite children in tough circumstances, visiting hospitals in costume and helping them set aside their cares for one day.

Activism & Advocacy
Growing up in the suburbs, I had a pretty limited view of the world outside of my small bubble. When I got into my teenage years and had access to the full scope of the world’s problems via the internet, I was taken by surprise and immediately new I wanted to help. Taking a step down from the stage to listen to and uplift different voices, and learning how to properly advocate for social and political progress, was a learning curve that took me a while to understand. I’m incredibly grateful to have been taught to acknowledge my privilege and use my resources to protest, spread information, and show my support. I’ve participated in multiple marches for Black Lives Matter in Detroit, participated in queer film festivals to tell stories uplifting the LGBTQ+ community, given speeches about Palestinian liberation, and cultivated mental health group spaces in my community.
